ENERGA Heat and Power Plant Elbląg, running its activity, tries to exert minimum influence on environment. It is particularly important because of close vicinity to housing estate, and also because near the plant there is a protected landscape area, a Natural Landscape Park "Elbląg Upland". The Plant tries to achieve this aim through performing the following activities:

in scope of current operations:
- combustion of high quality fuel, with high heating value, low content of ash and sulphur
- control of emission of substances into air and water
- maximum management of combustion wastes and other ones

in scope of investments:
- reduction of dust emission
- reduction of nitrate oxides
- reduction of pollutants discharged into water.

Investment activities performed within the years 1998-1999 within a special ecological investment programme brought significant effects in 2000, which was reflected in reduction of dust and nitrate oxides into the atmosphere as well as in the reduction of substance charges in discharged wastes. The achieved results are presented in the graphs.
